Flat Skin (2003) Installation Mutually Assured (2003) Accomplishments Andrew Blubaugh is a self-taught film and video artist from Cleveland, Ohio. His experimental personal documentaries have screened at the Sundance, Ann Arbor, Seattle International and Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian film festivals, among others. He is currently an instructor at Northwest Film Center in Portland and has also programmed for the cinematheque and various festivals.

as well as in the Edinburgh
Film Festival and the 20th edition of Newfest.
Blubaugh’s latest work employs bicycle metaphors, candid
discussion and illustrative re-enactments while telling about a
romantic relationship and its particular terms. January, February, March 2008 Andrew Blubaugh’s
The Pull
made its world premiere in the 31st Portland International Film
Festival, where it was included in the Made
in Oregon shorts program. Blubaugh’s latest work
employs bicycle metaphors, candid discussion and illustrative
re-enactments while telling about a romantic relationship and its
particular terms.
October, November, December 2007 Andy Blubaugh’s Scaredycat
made its public television debut in December on P.O.V.,
shown with Freida Lee Mock’s Wrestling with Angels.
It was also included in the Margaret
Mead Film & Video Festival,
which began its tour at New York City’s American Museum of
Natural History in November. This documentary short explores the
inevitable and justifiable fear the filmmaker experiences following a
physical assault at the hands of five young men, while also examining
the legal response to the attack. |
