Rea Tajiri’s History and Memory was shown in the Asian American International Film Festival, in New York City in July. This short documentary explores personal and cultural memory by juxtaposing Hollywood images of Japanese Americans and World War II propaganda with stories from the filmmaker's family.

Rea Tajiri's History and Memory: For Akiko and Takeshige, an exploration of the Japanese-American experience through media reports, Hollywood clips and the maker's mother's personal memories of her interment during World War II, was shown in March at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's series 25 Years of Women Calling the Shots.
