Jim Mendiola will be funded by Latino Public Broadcasting for a documentary he is producing.  Making Viva Max will look at a controversial Hollywood production that invaded and permanently affected San Antonio.

Jim Mendiola's feature Speeder Kills screened at the Victoria Theatre in San Francisco in September. The film follows the adventures of a San Antonio video artist on the run from massive debts. Pretty Vacant, a 1996 short about a young Tex-Mex punk rocker conflict between her ties to her family and her love of the Sex Pistols, screened at the Argos Festival in Belgium.
